For this title sequence, I captured the delicate balance of warmth and heartbreak found in Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi. The story’s cozy yet emotional tone is reflected in my illustration style, blending softness with melancholic depth. Since the narrative revolves around time travel within a coffee shop, I incorporated these elements into the visuals. Inspired by the novel’s intricate, almost ritualistic approach to time travel, I mirrored this idea through the careful, deliberate process of making coffee—using each step to subtly build anticipation and emotion.Tools: Adobe After Effects, Procreate.
